MICHAEL SING
I was born in Charleston S.C. but moved around quite frequently in my youth. Growing up on the coast, whether it was Southern California or Southern North Carolina, I have always been drawn to the water. Surfing has been, and always will be, a passion of mine. In 2011, I was injured with a broken foot and picked up a camera to pass the time. Surf photography became a way I could still be a part of something I loved so much. After turning down many weddings, I finally decided to give wedding photography a shot.
It became very apparent to me that whether it was waves or a beautiful bride walking down the aisle, I love photographing pretty things. I'm drawn to the timeless look of light and airy wedding photos shot on film, so I naturally gravitated to the fine art film look with my wedding and portrait photography. When I'm not surfing or making images, you can find me having a glass of wine with my wife Deanna on the beach, or playing on the beach with our chocolate lab mix, Jenny.

I grew up in northern Ohio and then moved to sunny North Carolina in 2000 with my family. Ever since I can remember, photography has always been a pull in my heart. It gives me a feeling of completeness in who I am, and I love the creative aspect of it. At 16 years old, I photographed my sister's full day wedding on a 35mm Canon EOS Rebel G film camera. I absolutely loved it. It wasn’t until I married Mike in 2017 that I really got into. He saw something in me that I didn't see and pushed me to pursue it even more.
I love to capture emotion and the connection of people during life's fleeting moments. You’ll see me as Mike's assistant helping with posing and lighting during portraits, or as the second shooter at our weddings. I also help Mike out with his videography when we are hired to videograph weddings. I currently offer bridal boudoir, maternity and newborn studio sessions. When I'm not working on photography, you can find me either at the beach or walking our rescue dog, Jenny.
