MICHAEL SING


I was born in Charleston, SC but moved around quite frequently in my youth. Growing up on the coast, whether it was Southern California or Southern North Carolina, I have always been drawn to the water. Surfing has been, and always will be, a passion of mine. In 2011, I was injured with a broken foot and picked up a camera to pass the time. Surf photography became a way I could still be a part of something I loved so much. After turning down many weddings, I finally decided to give wedding photography a shot.


I'm drawn to the timeless look of light and airy wedding photos shot on film, so I naturally gravitated towards the fine art film look with my wedding and portrait photography and videography. When I'm not making images, you can find me practicing Jiu Jitsu or on the beach with our chocolate lab mix, Jenny.

I grew up in northern Ohio and then moved to sunny North Carolina in 2000 with my family. Ever since I can remember, photography has always been a pull in my heart. It gives me a feeling of completeness in who I am, and I love the creative aspect of it. At 16 years old, I photographed my sister's full day wedding on a 35mm Canon EOS Rebel G film camera. I loved it. It wasn’t until I married Mike in 2017 that I really got into shooting weddings.  He saw something in me that I didn't see and pushed me to pursue it even more.


I love to capture emotion and the connection of people during life's fleeting moments. You’ll see me as photographer, Mike's assistant and also with a Super 8 camera in my hand. When I'm not working on photography, you can find me at the beach or walking our rescue dog, Jenny.
